The purpose of this SCLLR Cosmetology Board Approved, 45-hour course, is to prepare you with the skills needed to become a licensed Cosmetology, Nail Technician, or Esthetic Instructor in the State of South Carolina. We will focus on lesson planning (Gradual Release of Responsibility), the creation of focused lessons, building teacher-student relationships, classroom management, classroom arrangement, student learning styles, student engagement, how to facilitate student learning, closing your lesson, student assessment (formative & summative), and so much more.
By the end of this course, you'll be prepared for the NIC State Board Instructor's Exam!
Prerequisite: Must be a license Cosmetologist, Nail Technician, or Esthetician in South Carolina.
Requirements to become an Instructor in SC:
Must have a high school diploma or a General Education Development (GED); and
Be a licensed cosmetologist, nail technician or esthetician who has practiced for at least two years; or,
after receiving a cosmetology, nail technician or esthetician license, has completed a seven hundred fifty (750) hours instructor training program; and
Must have received forty-five (45) hours of training in a teaching methods course approved by the board; and
Pass the NIC Theory and Practical Instructor Exams.

Option #1) 2 Week Course 10-Day Classes Monday through Friday 9a-2p (4.5 hours each day, 30 min lunch)
Starts June 9th Ends 20th ( Full)
Starts June 30th Ends July 11th ( 15 seats left!)
Option #2) 2.5 Week 13-Night Classes Monday through Friday 5p-9p. (3.5 hours, 3- 10 minute breaks)
Starts June 9th Ends 25th (15 seats left!)
Starts June 30th Ends July 16th
Option #3) Saturday & Sunday 6-Classes 9a-5p (8 hours, 30 minute lunch, 2- 15 minute breaks)
June 7-8th, 14-15th, 21-22nd (Full)
July 5-6th, July 12th-13th, July 19th-20th
